Cindy Thiede has spent more than fifteen years photographing and writing log home architecture in the United States. She has crisscrossed the country three times over in her efforts to tstudy and document the architectural legacy of logs. Additionally, she and her husband Art have designed, built, and restored numerous log homes for themselves and other clients. Cindy's five books are available internationally including a Japanese translation of The Log Home Book, Design Past and Present. The also regularly contributes articles and photograghs to publications in the US and abroad.

Cindy anbd her family live in Hailey, Idaho where she and professional photographer Jonathon Stoke provide architectural photography services throughout the region. Currently, she is working on several new publishing ventures and continues to scout the country for book-worthy material.
