RABBIT TRAY

Molesworth Masterpiece

Every once in an artist's productive career he produces a piece that epitmizes all that is best in his art. This minimalist sculpture by Thomas Canada Molesworth is just such a piece.

The clean, spare lines capture the beauty and grace of the jackrabbit as few other pieces of art ever have. It incorporates elegance and whimsey, romance and sophistocation - a real Molesworth masterpiece.

As with all Molesworth's work, the sculpture is a combination of form, function and aesthetics.

Like many famous artists Molesworth was an innovator. He frequently introduced methods and materials into his pieces that were not wood. This interpretation of the wiley Jackrabbit was made from hand shaped iron.

Like many famous artists Molesworth was an innovator. He frequently introduced methods and materials into his pieces that were not wood. This little whimsical interpretation of a patient burro with side baskets for matches or candy is created out of hand shaped iron. He also created a long legged version that could be used as a freestanding tray.
